At the VCT Pacific week 4, Global Esports took on Talon Esports. In a best-of-three series, Talon lost to Global Esports. In the first match, Talon had a hard time taking down GES members. The second map was a lot closer, with GES edging out Talon in the end. With the loss, Talon now sits on the bottom of the league leaderboard along with DFM. After the loss, Strafe had an opportunity to interview Talon’s Itthirit “Foxz” Ngaamsaard. In an exclusive one-on-one interview, Talon Foxz talks about the triple duelist composition, what talon needs to do to win and more.

Q. Sorry for the loss, What do you think went wrong? You were winning on Icebox but you could not close the game.

Talon Foxz: “We couldn’t shut them down. They had good teamwork. I think it was unlucky”

Q. You had a pretty bad first map, What happened there?

Talon Foxz: “I think I am to blame for the first map because I wasn’t shooting well. I forgot to turn on the software for my mouse and my aim was very shaky. I didn’t know what to do”

Q. The triple-duelist composition against DRX was your idea, What was the thought process behind it?

Talon Foxz: “We just wanted to surprise DRX, the triple-duelist pick was get to the opponents as fast as possible but we got rekt by the kay/o knife”

Q. There are still five games to go but losing another game will make it really tough for you to qualify for VCT Pacific playoffs. What do you think you need to work on to ensure you win the next five games?

Talon Foxz: “Honestly I don’t know, I think we need to work on all our basics”

Q. You have been switching around the roles a lot, are you guys comfortable with your roles now?

Talon Foxz: “We have been switching roles a lot but we still haven’t figured out who’s gonna be the best player in a specific role.”

Q. Can we see JitboyS back in action?

Talon Foxz: “You need to ask Zeus and BoyS for it”

Q. What is the IGL situation for Talon currently? Were you calling against DRX?

Talon Foxz: “Crws was IGL’ing and I was calling against DRX.”

Q. With Bind returning and Icebox leaving, Do you think you’d pick the map as a curveball?

Talon Foxz: “If we were to talk about Bind and our previous roster in Xerxia, Bind was our worst map and Icebox was our best so the change is just sad. We’d probably work on the map for sure because we probably have to play it.”

Q. Who do you think will be the toughest team to face moving forward?

Talon Foxz: “I think every team for now. We need to work hard and get better than them”

Q. You’d face ZETA next, What are your plans for them?

Talon Foxz: “We need to fight with them with our lives online, No I am just kidding. I think we need to work on our teamwork and I think we’d win if we get better teamwork”

Q.  What really changed after VCT LOCK//IN?

Talon Foxz: “We were good at LOCK//IN because we adjusted well there and we are having a bit of hard time adjusting to Korea”

Talon will face ZETA Division next week. ZETA has seen an upward trend in performance and have started looking like their VCT Masters Reykjavik 2022 selves. Talon must defeat ZETA in order to have a chance for VCT Pacific playoffs qualification.
