As mentioned in our Group Stage Recap, Falcons dominated early, emerging as one of the first teams to qualify for the Playoffs after decisive victories against MOUZ, Team Liquid, and BetBoom Team.
However, their Playoffs journey did not start as smoothly as expected. In a surprising twist, MOUZ managed to upset Falcons 2–0, knocking them down to the Lower Bracket. This early setback only seemed to motivate Falcons further.
From there, they began an impressive comeback run, defeating Tundra Esports, Team Spirit, and Team Liquid—all with tight 2–1 scorelines.
Their final Lower Bracket opponent was Team Yandex, who had already exceeded expectations. Yet, by this point, Falcons’ momentum was unstoppable. Despite Yandex’s best efforts, they fell 2–1, finishing third overall, while ATF and his squad advanced to the Grand Finals looking stronger than ever.
Grand Finals: The Falcons’ Comeback
The Grand Finals began with BetBoom Team taking an early lead, claiming the first map and intending to finish what they started. However, Team Falcons refused to back down. They adjusted their drafts, improved coordination, and turned the tide in the second map to tie the series 1–1.
From that point onward, the momentum shifted dramatically. Falcons began to dictate the pace. BetBoom fought valiantly, but by the time the fourth game rolled around — lasting nearly an hour — the outcome was clear. Team Falcons closed the series 3–1, securing their rightful place as FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2 Champions and further solidifying their post-TI dominance.
The victory earned Team Falcons the top prize of $350,000, while BetBoom Team took home $180,000 for second place. Team Yandex rounded out the top three with $105,000, marking their strongest finish at a Tier 1 event so far.
Comparing FISSURE PLAYGROUND and BLAST Slam IV
