Team Heretics announce the addition of Wo0t, RieNs and MiniBoo to the VCT 2024 roster
Team Heretics haven’t had the best of VCT 2023 season. The team was knocked out in the first match of VCT LOCK//IN, and could not qualify for the VCT EMEA playoffs. The team brought in Benjy David “Benjyfishy” Fish for the LCQ, but the outcome didn’t change, they were knocked out in the first round of LCQ.
Needless to say, a single roster change might not be sufficient for the team. Earlier this year, Auni “Avova” Chahade announced his free agency. A couple of days ago, Óscar “Mixwell” Cañellas Colocho announced his retirement from active competition.
An Overhaul:
With VCT 2024 on the horizon, Team Heretics have brought in three new faces to fill in the roster. The first player to join the squad is Ričardas "Boo" Lukaševičius' younger brother Dominykas "MiniBoo" Lukaševičius. The team has also brought in the Turkish youngsters in Mert "Wo0t" Alkan and Enes "RieNs" Ecirli.
MiniBoo has followed his brother's footsteps and decided to become a Valorant professional. He spent the last year with Case Esports and qualified for the VCT EMEA Ascension. Unfortunately they fell in the group stage and failed to qualify for the playoffs.
Wo0t has been connected to multiple rosters and is one of the most sought after Turkish players in EMEA. The player previously played for Fire Flux esports and was one of the top performing players for the squad.
RieNs will be the final player to join the squad. RieNs is a flex player who was part of S2G Esports. They were a top team in VCL Turkey 2023 and qualified for the VCT EMEA Ascension play-ins but could not qualify for the main stage.
Brandon "weber" Weber has also moved back to Asst. Coach position with the addition of the new players. With Neil and Weber as the support staff, Team Heretics is a strong young squad centered around young talent and developing them.
Team Heretics VCT 2024 roster will be as follows:
- Ričardas "Boo" Lukaševičius
- Benjy David “Benjyfishy” Fish
- Dominykas "MiniBoo" Lukaševičius
- Mert "Wo0t" Alkan
- Enes "ReiNs" Ecirli
- Brandon "weber" Weber (Asst. Coach)
- Neil "neilzinho" Finlay (Head Coach)
The team has amazing firepower with the new additions and it will be fun to see how the squad plays. The new Team Heretics will debut at the Red Bull Home Ground #4 EMEA qualifiers alongside new FUT and FOKUS.
