Team Heretics subs in paTiTek, RieNs to play remote in Istanbul
Team Heretics have confirmed that their VALORANT roster will see two adaptations heading into their 2024 season. New addition Mert “Wo0t” Alkan has not reached the age requirement for competing VCT EMEA. At 17-years-old, the Turkish player will only reach his birthday on March 16th, meaning that he will miss the entire VCT EMEA Kickoff and potentially the start of VCT Madrid – should Heretics make it that far.
In his stead, former Heretics member, Patryk “paTiTek” Fabrowski will play for the organization as a substitute. He most recently played for Case Esports, finishing first in his Challenger League, however, was eliminated in VCT Ascension.
Furthermore, Enes “RieNs” Ecirli, one of their other new additions and the other Turkish talent to join the Spanish organization, also confirmed that he would not be present with the rest of the team in time for Kickoff. This was due to visa issues, with both him and Wo0t both struggling to obtain a visa in time to attend VCT EMEA in Berlin.
Instead, Riot has allowed RieNs to play remotely, attending VCT EMEA from Istanbul. Moreover, it has been reported that he will be utilizing the Papara SuperMassive organization’s facilities to compete. The remainder of the Team Heretics roster is set to attend VCT EMEA Kickoff at the new Riot Games Arena as per scheduled.
Team Heretics is set to play in the opening match of Group A against FUT Esports on the 20th of February, 5pm CET.
