After months of trial, Team Liquid Sign YEKINDAR
Finally, after months of trial, Mareks “YEKINDAR” Galinskis was signed by Team Liquid. Arguably during this time, he was one of the strongest members of their lineup. His performance allowed Liquid to finish 2nd at ESL Pro League Season 16 and win the BLAST Premier Fall Groups.
At just 23, YEKINDAR is a highly competent entry fragger who has the potential to become one of the best in the game. These days, CS:GO is full of legendary players but what’s really important is the actual performance at each event.
Players like Mathiew “ZywOo” Herbaut manage to consistently have amazing stats, even when their teams lose. So far, YEKINDAR has given clear signs that he belongs to that category of individuals who are still fully relevant today.
In the past three months, his rating 2.0 has been 1.20 and the more you watch him play, the more you understand why he was ranked 8th in the top 20 players of 2021. This year, he will likely get a top 5 rank.

YEKINDAR joined Team Liquid after he left Virtus.pro, so he was already used to tier-1 Counter-Strike: Global Offensive by the time he started playing for the NA organization. The months he has spent competing for his new team have only made him stronger, and now he looks ready to win some S-tier events.
The next tournament for Liquid is IEM Rio Major. The opportunity provided by this tournament is probably the best of 2022, and Liquid are already qualified for the Legends Stage because they are one of the eight Legends.
It’s not that difficult to imagine them getting a top eight result in this stage and then having a good run in the Playoffs. Of course, all of this will require excellent team play but we’ve already seen Liquid displaying excellent fluency at EPL S16.
YEKINDAR is probably training 24/7 right now, getting ready for the biggest CS:GO opportunity of his career. If he delivers, Liquid have a high chance of competing in another Grand Final of an S-tier event.
