VALORANT Champions Seoul 2024 starts tomorrow with 16 best teams worldwide will fight for the biggest title. Earlier today, upholding the yearly traditions, Riot Games organized a pre-event press conference, commemorating the start of the biggest VALORANT event of the year.

At the press conference, the representatives from competing teams tackled the questions, setting the tone for the upcoming gala.

At the conference, TenZ representing Sentinels reflected on missing the Shanghai Masters and how in hindsight it was a blessing in disguise.

In the competitive world of VALORANT, the journey to the top is filled with both triumphs and setbacks. Tyson "TenZ" Ngo, winner of Masters Madrid with Sentinels, reflected on the bittersweet experience of missing out on Masters Shanghai. And also the silver lining that came with it.

While the disappointment was palpable, TenZ emphasized the importance of the unexpected break in allowing his team to regroup and recharge. Formed just before last year’s Champions, the team had been on a relentless practice and competition schedule.

“I do think it was quite disappointing to miss out on Masters Shanghai. But at the same time, it was nice for us to have a bit of a break leading up to attempting to qualify for champs and eventually here at Champs now. Overall, because the team was put together back last year near the start of champs, I think.

And so we were practicing for quite a bit with John. We later kept playing. We participated in Africa, which was also a tournament here in Korea. And so we've been playing nonstop for quite a bit.”

The hiatus provided a much-needed opportunity to refine their strategies, focus on individual growth, and, crucially, to breathe. TenZ highlighted how this period of rest and recalibration was instrumental in rekindling their excitement for the game, ultimately preparing them mentally and physically for the challenges ahead at Champions.

“So just having that time to kind of relax and change up our game plan a little bit, work on ourselves, but also just breathe a little bit and come back with a more excited mentality towards the game, I think was really important for us.”

The pre-event press conference for VALORANT Champions Seoul 2024 provided a rich tapestry of insights into the players' experiences, challenges, and preparations.

As the tournament begins, fans can look forward to a thrilling display of skill and strategy, fueled by months of hard work and renewed enthusiasm.
