Dota 2 patch 7.34e didn't have the big changes people were hoping for yet it did do enough to shake up the meta. With a few well-aimed nerfs to overpowered heroes and items, along with a couple of buffs to underutilized players, the game is a little more balanced now across the board.

In this list we will look at the biggest winners of Dota 2 patch 7.34e and whether or not you should be playing them in your pubs.

The Five Biggest Winners of Dota 2 Patch 7.34e

Tiny

Changes in Dota 2 patch 7.34e

  • Avalanche: Mana Cost decreased from 120 to 90/100/110/120

Tiny starts off with a limited mana pool and a decrease in the cost of Avalanche goes a long way to helping his early game, whether it's as a core or a support.

The hero still has his issues in the game. He is a melee hero who needs to be close to enemies to deal damage. His burst potential is significantly weaker these days, as most heroes are more durable and buy Infused Raindrops.

Unless you're a huge fan of the hero, we recommend staying away from Tiny in your pubs, a 45% win rate just isn't worth trying out.

Winter Wyvern

Changes in Dota 2 patch 7.34e

  • Cold Embrace: Base Heal per second increased from 30/35/40/45 to 40/45/50/55

To be frank, I was a little confused as to why Winter Wyvern was ignored in the previous patch. With so many strength cores, Wyvern's percentage-based damage seemed like a powerful tool to combat that.

The latest update buffs the hero's healing potential and it's a sizable increase. Going from base 120 to 160 healing at level one is quite nice, and the spell doesn't feel so much like it's just stunning allies now.

Winning 48% of the time is a bit low, but if agility cores make a comeback, then Winter Wyvern is poised to do well in this patch.

Beastmaster

While he didn't get direct buffs this patch, Beastmaster is looking pretty strong right now due to changes in the meta.

It's too early to say Zoo heroes have returned, but the buff to Vladimir's offering and the change to faster-paced gameplay all benefit macro heroes such as Beastmaster.

Pubs in particular will struggle against fast pushes, which makes Karroch a solid hero to spam. If pushing isn't an option, players can always go for Aghanim Scepter to focus on team fighting.

Overall the hero is in a decent but not incredible spot, winning 47% of the time. We recommend spammers try him out but only if you're willing to take the time and master Beastmaster

Gyrocopter

Changes in Dota 2 patch 7.34e

Rocket Barrage: Rocket Damage increased from 6/12/18/24 to 8/14/20/26

Rocket Barrage hits enemies 10 times a second, so the buff increases the damage per second by 20 at each level and total damage by 60.

At max level it isn't a huge change, going from 720 to 780 is nice but not exactly game-breaking.

But during the laning stage, having a 240 damage spell on a seven-second cooldown and only a 75 mana cost is pretty powerful.

As a support, Gyrocopter is looking incredibly strong. Players should rush an Aghanim Shard at 15 minutes and then just focus on surviving fights while spamming Homing Missle.

We strongly believe this hero will get picked up as a babysitter five or a greedy four, either way, it's worth trying him out as a support, as he currently wins 51% of the time.

Lycan

Changes in Dota 2 patch 7.34e

  • Base Agility increased from 16 to 18
  • Agility gain increased from 1.4 to 1.8

Lycan starts with two extra agility and gains two extra agility points every five levels, is that a big deal?

Well firstly it's important to remember that the hero is Universal, so that translates to an extra 1.4 base damage and an additional 1.4 every two levels, it's not a massive amount to be sure.

Agility also provides extra attack speed and armor, and that goes a long way to making the hero significantly more threatening.

So to sum it up, Banehallow hits faster, harder, and takes longer to bring down. He is also the most likely hero to buy Helm of the Overlord, the best zoo item in the game.

With many cores getting toned down slightly, it makes sense to look to new heroes to take their spots, and Lycan looks like the biggest winner this patch, winning nearly 6% more games.
