Worlds 2024 is right around the corner, and the time has come to discuss who the very best players at the tournament are.

To begin, we set to the difficult task of ranking who we think are the best five top lane players attending this year's Worlds. This ranking is a reflection on these players' current forms, capacity to perform under pressure, influence in their teams, champion pools and Worlds meta affinity.

So, without further ado, let's dive right in!

5. 369 (TES)

What is there to say about Jiahao "369" Bai that hasn't been said already? A fantastic team-fighter, consistent laner, a former LPL MVP and one of the best team players in the world; 369 is, simply put, one of the most solid players the game has ever seen.

Despite failing to win a single trophy in 2024 with Top Esports, 369 remains one of the very best top lane players, and will look to prove so at Worlds.

4. Doran (HLE)

A four-time LCK Champion, Choi "Doran" Hyeon-joon and Hanwha Life Esports shocked the world by defeating Gen.G at the LCK Summer Grand Finals.

Doran, it seems, finds a way to win no matter what team he currently finds himself on. Coming into Worlds, the South Korean player will feel confident in his ability to hold his own against any top laner at the tournament.

Currently, Doran boasts one of the highest career win rates on K'Sante out of all top lane players in the world at a staggering 71.8%. With the champion having been omnipresent in professional play all year long, K'Sante is expected to play a big part in the top lane meta at Worlds. And you'll hear no complaints from Doran.

3. Zika (LNG)

Huayu "Zika" Tang should come into the tournament feeling ecstatic about Worlds patch (14.18). Despite his short career, Zika is a known menace on Jax, being a fantastic team-fighter on the champion.

At the LPL Regional Finals, Zika put up a staggering 13 KDA to secure his team a ticket to Worlds. Due to his aggressive playstyle, the top laner should have a field day in the opening stages of Worlds against arguably weaker opposition. The question is, though, how will Zika fare against the very best top laners in the world?

It's worth remembering, however, that Zika's phenomenal glow-up began with the top laner joining LNG to partner up with Scout. With the star mid laner expected to miss Worlds due to a travel ban, it will be interesting to see how Scout's absence might affect Zika's performance at the tournament.

2. Kiin (Gen.G)

Despite always being considered a top tier player, Kim "Kiin" Gi-in had never managed to win any major trophies until he decided to join Gen.G at the end of last year. From then on, it seems winning is all he's been able to do, even claiming the first international tournament of the year back in May, the 2024 Mid-Season Invitational.

On top of his exceptional laning, Kiin displays an ability to play a wide variety of picks, a skill that may come in handy at Worlds. During the LCK Summer Playoffs, Kiin played a total of 7 champions across 12 games, even putting up the odd Corki, Garen or Udyr top games.

1. Bin (BLG)

BLG's top laner Zebin "Bin" Chen comes into this year's Worlds as the absolute best top laner in the game. With Bin leading the charge, BLG ran away with both the Spring and Summer seasons in the LPL, while also finishing MSI in second place after losing to Gen.G in the finals.

If Bin manages to maintain his current form, he may just have the tournament of his life at this year's Worlds. At the LPL Summer Playoffs, Bin led all top laners in KDA, CS per minute (CSPM) and gold per minute (GPM).

With Worlds meta shaping up to be perfectly suited for Bin after buffs to both Jax and Gnar (Bin's all-time top 2 most played champions) in patch 14.18, the Chinese player is set to come into the tournament and dominate the top lane.
