The lower bracket stages for The Lima Major have begun. Fans were surprised at the lower brackets' first stage as Team Aster eliminated the current Ti Champions - Tundra Esports advancing to the next stage of the lower brackets.
Coming into the Major, Tundra struggled to keep a strong showing during the group stages, and on day 3 of the group stage, the team was even at risk of facing elimination. Even though Tundra managed to overcome it, they only advanced to the lower brackets of the playoffs. During their first stage of the lower bracket playoff, they got eliminated.
Team Aster Vs Tundra Esports
The elimination series between Team Aster and Tundra Esports was intense. Both teams are known to become stronger the further they go in the tournament. The remaining teams will be glad to know that one of those teams got eliminated.
Game 1 was a complete stomp by Team Aster. Tundra’s draft looks good on paper with a Dragon Knight mid and Lifestealer hard carry. However, Aster’s Xwy played brilliantly on his midlane Ember Spirit, kiting in fights and securing backline pickoffs. Team Aster ended game 1 at 34 minutes with a score of 5-27.
Tundra played to near perfection in game 2, patiently waiting for Aster to make mistakes and punishing them for their greediness. Aster picked Silencer to counter 33’s Enigma’s Blackholes, but 33 waited patiently to use the Blackhole on the Silencer. Team Aster tapped out from game 2 at 51 minutes with a score of 12-27.
Game 3 saw Team Aster on midlane Templer Assasin backed by a safelane hard-carry Drow Ranger. Even though, Tundra dominated the laning stage, Tundra’s hard-carry Gyrocopter has no answers to the duo core of Team Aster, allowing Team Aster to close game 3 out at 48 minutes with a net worth lead of 23K gold. In doing so, Team Aster eliminated Tundra Esports from The Lima Major.
Team Spirit Vs PSG.LGD
Team Spirit against PSG.LGD was another highlighted match of the day fans were excited to see the Ti10 rematch.
In game 1, Team Spirit drafted Collapse’s signature Magnus offlane. Team Spirit played patiently despite losing the laning stage and the first aegis. Their patience paid off as PSG.LGD made crucial mistakes in the mid-game allowing Team Spirit to close out game 1 at 43 minutes.
NothingToSay with his Storm Spirit stepped up in game 2, securing pickoffs at the backlines and stopping split push attempts by Team Spirit’s Collapse’s Nature Prophet. PSG.LGD closed out game 2 at 39 minutes. NothingToSay didn’t die once in game 2.
In game 3, Team Spirit played a fast-paced game, on top of safelane Drow Ranger and offlane Nature Prophet. With no answer to the momentum of the game, PSG.LGD tapped out at 29 minutes, giving the series to Team Spirit.
