Vyse will be released gradually across regions starting from August 28th at 1 PM PT.

General Updates Across All Platforms

The Unlimited Abilities cheat now grants 100% fuel and removes fuel consumption from abilities like Neon's High Gear, Skye's Regrowth, and Viper's Toxic Screen and Poison Cloud, allowing for extended testing and training.

Player Behavior Improvements

Riot Games continues to refine player behavior with this patch. Players who repeatedly engage in communication abuse will undergo a behavioral manual evaluation. This move aims to create a healthier and more enjoyable communication experience for everyone in Valorant.

Bug Fixes: Cleaner and Smoother Gameplay

Patch 9.04 addresses a host of bugs to improve gameplay stability. Here are some key fixes:

  • Skye: An issue with her Seekers not consuming Ultimate Points under certain conditions has been resolved.
  • Neon: A bug that allowed her to slide into the barrier at the beginning of a round and gain a free slide charge has been fixed.
  • KAY/O: Flash/Drive’s visual glitch of showing a second explosion when thrown behind a wall has been corrected.
  • Combat Report: Several issues with the Combat Report, such as missing spike icons and minimap inconsistencies, have been addressed.

Map Updates

Various maps have seen minor tweaks and fixes:

  • Abyss: Adjustments around Mid and A Site to prevent abilities from bypassing walls.
  • Icebox: A gap in A Main has been closed.
  • Lotus: A visual bug causing agents to float next to the ascender line has been fixed.

Competitive and System Updates

  • Competitive play sees slight adjustments, particularly in Premier and Tournament Mode Custom Games, where teams now have two tactical timeouts per game, with one additional timeout in overtime.
  • For those diving into their match history, a new Season Dropdown allows players to review their Act Rank History more easily.

PC Gameplay Systems Updates

Tactical Timeouts

  • Teams now have 2 tactical timeouts that can be called at any time.
  • If a game goes into overtime, each team is granted 1 additional tactical timeout.

Combat Report

  • Pressing M3 now opens the additional details panel of the combat report (previously accessed by Tab+M3).

Premier

  • Resolved an issue where the schedule would occasionally scroll inconsistently when collapsing or expanding weeks.

Console Updates

Console players rejoice as Split makes its way back into Unrated and Swift Play queues. This fan-favorite map brings new opportunities and challenges to the console platform.

Agent Updates

Sova - Reduced spikes in rotational speed after firing each shot of Hunter’s Fury.

Astra - Wall placement of Cosmic Divide now prioritizes player input, allowing better control over the ability's placement.

Additional Bug Fixes

  • The latest update addresses several bugs, including issues with weapon swapping on the Traditional Control preset, misaligned ability bar icons, incorrect surrender vote prompts, and D-Pad/Stick input errors.
  • In Competitive mode, fixes include proper ranked updates in Match History, missing player cards in the Leaderboard, navigational issues, and empty summary screens for observers.
  • The Combat Report also received improvements, resolving flickering after respawning, overlapping with the Victory/Defeat ceremony, and missing reports after force closing the game.

Known Issues: Vyse and Gameplay Systems

While Vyse is already making waves, console players should be aware that her damaging abilities are currently displaying incorrectly in the Combat Report. Riot Games will address this issue, along with others related to surrender voting and UI elements, in future updates.

With Vyse joining the fight, Split returning on console, and various gameplay improvements, this update will keep players engaged and strategizing on the battlefield. Dive in and explore the new features as Riot continues to refine the Valorant experience.
