Riot Games has announced the VALORANT Patch 9.05 notes, bringing significant changes to agents, gameplay mechanics, and platform-specific features.

With agent reworks, weapon adjustment, and the introduction of a new map to consoles, Patch 9.05 promises to offer a refined experience for players across all platforms.

Here are a few of the highlights from the patch notes:

Agent Updates: All Platforms

Patch 9.05 introduces some notable changes to agents, balancing their abilities to ensure more dynamic gameplay. Here are the highlights:

Chamber:

Chamber's Rendezvous ability received a crucial tweak, with the teleport radius increased from 13m to 18m. This change allows Chamber to take more aggressive positions and surprise enemies by pushing angles more safely.

Astra:

Astra’s stars have been increased from 4 to 5, giving her more flexibility in controlling the battlefield. This change comes after previous nerfs to her Gravity Well and buffs to her other abilities, which had left her struggling to remain competitive as a Controller.

With an extra star, Astra can now balance her duties between controlling the map and utilizing her entire kit effectively.

Omen:

Omen's voice lines have been updated, adding interactions with newer agents like Viper, Iso, Clove, and Vyse. These interactions add depth to his character and create opportunities for lore expansion within the game.

Stim Behavior Adjustment:

The developers have made a long-requested adjustment to stims that increase fire rate, such as Reyna’s Empress. Riot has now implemented consistent recoil control to match the default rate of fire. This ensures players can maintain accurate muscle memory when firing while stimmed.

Weapons Updates

The Patch also sees changes to the Ares, making it more competitive with other heavy weaponry options like the Odin.

Ares:

  • The crouch benefits have been reverted, restoring the standard crouch reduction from 25% to 40%. This change improves stability while firing and makes it easier to hold down choke points.
  • Headshot multiplier has been increased from 2.4 to 2.5. Thus making two headshots lethal within 30 meters. This change enhances the weapon's reliability in combat.

PC-Specific Updates

Ranked Restrictions Expanded:

Penalties for disruptive player behavior now extend to all team-based modes, not just ranked and Premier queues. This is a move to promote better conduct across all game modes and maintain the competitive integrity of VALORANT.

Riot Voice Evaluation:

Riot has updated the voice chat system, expanding its Riot Voice Evaluation (RVE) to specific regions. This allows Riot to more effectively manage voice communications, ensuring that players adhere to in-game behavior standards.

Premier Updates:

A new button has been added to view the maps available for Playoffs. To access the Playoff map pool, navigate to the Playoffs Event in the Premier hub schedule, then click the "Show Map Pool" button located in the center of the hub.

Console-Specific Updates

Console players are receiving additional updates:

  • New Map- Breeze has been added to the Unrated and Swiftplay queues on console.
  • Progression Screen Overhaul- The progression screen now shows more detailed information regarding agent gear, making it easier for players to track their achievements and rewards.
  • New Map Cursor Speed Slider- A slider has been added to adjust the speed of the cursor on the map. This helps players navigate agent abilities more efficiently, particularly for those using precise placements like Brimstone’s Sky Smoke.

Upcoming Patch Schedule

Riot Games has scheduled the remaining patches for Episode 9, though the dates may change in the future. The staggered rollout will begin based on Pacific Time for the following patches:
