Valorant Premier Global Open Beta: All you need to know
After months of anticipation, Valorant Premier is finally here, at least the beta is. Introduced back in October 2022, Valorant Premier is a new upcoming in-game mode tournament mode. The initial closed alpha testing for the mode concluded in Brazil. After the Alpha testing mode, Riot went Radio-silent on the subject until VCT LOCK//IN. At VCT LOCK//IN, Riot announced the Global Open Beta launch of Valorant Premier. Starting 25th April, with Act III, players can sign up for the Valorant Premier Global Open Beta. As soon as 29th April, players can queue up for the Valorant Premier matches.
How to access/enroll for Valorant Premier Global Open Beta?
The Valorant Premier Open Beta starts on 25th April and will last until 23rd May. Players can begin enrolling for Valorant Premier starting 25th April. After enrollment, team owners can create teams, design logos and select Zones to play Valorant Premier. You can find Valorant Premier on the full screen upon launch. The option will also be available in the navigation menu. Upon clicking the Valorant Premier, you will encounter a pop-up explaining the system.
Valorant Premier eligibility criterion:
To be eligible for Valorant Premier, one needs to fulfill the two following conditions,
- One needs to verify the identity using SMS verification.
- One needs an account placement at any point in the account’s lifetime.
The SMS verification will allow only one account per phone number. Using a used phone number will lead to a six-month Valorant Premier cooldown. If you unlink your number from your account, the account will be unverified, and you will not be eligible to queue Valorant Premier.
What to do next after Valorant Premier Global open beta enrollment:
Once you are done verifying your account and are eligible for it, you’d be redirected to “Create a team.” The Team Owners/Creators/captains can invite players to the team and will be responsible for inviting/removing members from the team. A player is only allowed to join a single team. There are no rank restrictions on the team; players can join any team. Upon team creation, an appropriate division will be assigned to the team. The division will change based on the team players. A change in players will lead to a change in team division.
If there are multiple zones in a country, the team owner will be asked to choose a zone. Once enrolled, the team cannot change the zone but can unroll and re-enroll to select a new zone. But missing the enrollment will lead to missing the beta.
Valorant Premier Team Hub, Weekly Matches, and Tournament:
After the team’s creation, the party owner is the team captain responsible for the team logo, promoting another player to a leader, and deleting the team entirely. If the owner leaves the team, the player on the team the longest becomes the owner. You can check the team’s status in the Premier Hub and team hub.
There will be division-wise team standing (similar to Leaderboard). Each win assigns points for the team. The points helps the team qualify for the Zonal tournaments. The match history tab displays team-level match history, and individual game participation is still available in player-level match history. Team Match history can also be used for Historical team match data.
Weekly matches and Tournament:
You can queue for your weekly matches in the Premier hub. Teams should queue for the weekly matches at the earliest to avoid not getting a match. Valorant Premier will feature the maps from the Active map pool, teams will recieve intimation for the maps played so they can prepare. The system will assign a premier score of 100 for a win and 25 for a loss. At the end of the beta, the Top 8 teams from each division of each zone will take on each other. The tournament will feature a map pick-ban system similar to pro matches.
Playing and winning the tournament will earn you a banner and a title. You can unlock the banner and the title after logging in to your Valorant account. There will also be a test tournament in a zone on 3rd May. The tournament is a technical test to check if Valorant Premier services are working properly. With everything set, let’s prepare your team for competing in Valorant Premier. Valorant Premier will eventually be an in-game tournament that’ll qualify teams for a Riot-sponsored event and will be a Valorant’s Path to Pro.
