Valve has revealed the final Regional Rankings (VRS) ahead of the Shanghai Major. This update determines the eight teams that will advance directly to the Elimination Stage, as well as the match-ups for the Opening Stage’s first round.

Seeding for the event is determined by performances from the previous Major, with regions receiving specific allocations based on their success in Copenhagen. As a result, Europe’s top eight teams will proceed directly to the next stage, while teams like The MongolZ, ranked fifth in the world according to the VRS, are seeded only 15th overall.

Heading into the Shanghai Major, G2 Esports holds the top spot in the global rankings, with Natus Vincere and Team Vitality right behind. As the highest-ranked teams, they are favored to make deep playoff runs, especially with their direct advancement to the Elimination Stage, bypassing the Opening Stage entirely.

Here is the seeding for the Elimination Stage:

  1. G2 Esports
  2. Natus Vincere
  3. Team Vitality
  4. Team Spirit
  5. MOUZ
  6. FaZe Clan

Three NAVI rosters are in the top 50 of Valve ranking

The latest ranking update marks a historic milestone in Counter-Strike history. For the first time, a single organization has three rosters ranked among the top 50 teams worldwide. Natus Vincere’s main roster, NAVI Javelins (women’s team), and NAVI Junior have all secured their place on the global stage.

NAVI Javelins have climbed to the 32nd spot in the global rankings, surpassing teams like Wildcard, Falcons, and Ninjas in Pyjamas. Meanwhile, NAVI Junior, the academy team, has seen impressive growth, advancing three spots to secure 42nd place, highlighting their significant progress over the past few months.

With the opening matches for the Perfect World Shanghai Major now revealed, the first stage will begin on November 30. Stay tuned for all the action as the tournament kicks off.
