Valve celebrates A Decade of Dota 2
It’s been ten years since Valve officially ended the beta and released Dota 2 in 2013. Throughout those years, the game has evolved into a worldwide phenomenon which laid the foundation for the worlds of esports. Valve recently released a celebratory update regarding the 10th anniversary of Dota 2, giving players a free treasure.
The Treasure
Valve celebrated Dota 2’s decade-long journey with a treasure hunt. The treasure includes thirteen exclusive thirteen different items players will get when they win a match. The limited-time event starts now until September 7th. The celebratory treasure contains full skin sets, immortal skins, couriers, announcer packs and even a Mirana persona bundle. Moreover, each item corresponds to the year they are tied, dating back to 2011 when Valve first introduced the beta version of Dota 2. The list of the items included is as below:

Some of the items in the treasure are also seasonal. They will expire once the 10-year-anniversary period is over.
The Mixed Feelings
The community has mixed feelings about the treasure. Some players are excited to see the new skins and returning ones, as they now have the chance to get the ones they have missed out on. However, some players, on the other hand, are disappointed. The disappointed players have a solid point as well. Firstly, Valve’s delayed the anniversary celebration, which hyped the players. However, it was a disappointing celebration as Valve only released a treasure when they could have done more. Moreover, the skins included are the recoloured variants of the old skins. Nevertheless, something is better than nothing.
However, there is a glimmer of hope as well. The International is on the horizon, and players think Valve is up to something. In the past, Valve has a habit of innovating new stuff to attract players to Dota 2. They introduced Turbo mode to the game in 2017 and rank role queues in 2018. Moreover, with Valve promising to focus on Dota 2 recently, all eyes are set on what they will have in store for The International 2023.
