VCT Americas 2023 Week 4: The Super Week Recap

VALORANT Champions Tour 2023: Americas League kicked off on the 2nd of April. It was one of the 3 regional leagues hosted by Riot.

VCT Americas features some of the best Valorant teams, not only in the American Region, but also in the world. 10 teams are going head-to-head to be crowned the Champion of the Americas. But that’s not the end goal here, as the teams are also competing to fight for points to qualify for VCT Masters Tokyo, and VCT Champions.

Super Week for the VCT Americas 2023 has just ended, where each team had to play 2 matches each.

Game 1: LOUD vs Sentinels

LOUD beat Sentinels 2-1 in the opening match of the week. Sentinels managed to win 13-6 on Pearl. But LOUD bounced back on Haven and Ascent, as they won both maps 13-11 and 13-8 respectively. It was aspas leading the table with 64 kills and a 1.31 rating.

Game 2: Leviatan vs MIBR

Leviatan completely swept MIBR off their feet, as they won 2-0 in their series. They took Pearl in a dominant fashion at 13-4. While Icebox was even more dominant at 13-3. Nzr led the table with 33 kills and a 1.62 rating overall.

Game 3: KRU vs 100 Thieves

KRU and 100T went all the way till map 3. But it was the North Americans who came out on top this time at 2-1. KRU completely dominated on Ascent, winning the map a whopping 13-4. However, 100T managed to find their bearings, as they won the next two maps Split and Fracture at 13-11 and 13-5 respectively, even managing to return the favor from Map 1.

Game 4: Evil Geniuses vs Furia

Furia took the series 2-1 against EG. The Brazilians took a win on Ascent right off the bat at 13-11. EG returned the favor on Fracture at 13-7. Final map of the series was Haven, which was won by Furia 13-10 off of a great Attack side.

Game 5: NRG vs Cloud9

Cloud9 came out on top of this North American derby, as they won the series 2-1. NRG managed to win Havenl 13-8. But Cloud9 quickly recovered, winning Pearl 13-9, and then Ascent 13-7 to take the game. It was jakee leading the table with a 1.45 rating.

Game 6: MIBR vs Sentinels

Second game of the week for Sentinels went considerably better, but the same can’t be said for MIBR as the North Americans won the series 2-0. Sentinels took Pearl in a commanding 13-5 score. Fracture was a similar result at 13-6. This gave MIBR their second 2-0 loss of the week.

Game 7: Leviatan vs 100 Thieves

100 Thieves secured their second win of the day as they beat Leviatan 2-1. Leviatan managed to push the first map Icebox into Overtime, and then clinched the victory at 15-13. But 100T did not allow any more of such chances, as they took both remaining maps Haven and Lotus at 13-11 each.

Game 8: Evil Geniuses vs LOUD

LOUD secured yet another victory as they beat EG 2-1 in the series. EG absolutely demolished the South Americans in the first map Split, as they handed them a 13-3 loss. However, LOUD did not take this sitting down. They won the second map Haven 13-10. Then proceeded to humiliate EG by winning the third map Pearl at 13-0. LOUD are currently unbeaten at VCT Americas 2023 at 5-0.

Game 9: Cloud9 vs Furia

Cloud9 also picked up another victory for the week as they beat Furia 2-0. They picked up two not-so-easy victories on Ascent and Fracture at 13-8 and 13-9 respectively. Cloud9 are currently second in the League, at 4-1, with their only loss by the hands of LOUD.

Game 10: NRG vs KRU

NRG ended the week on a high note as they won 2-0 against KRU. KRU managed to fight on Haven, but fell short as they lost 13-10. NRG had a dominant run on Ascent, as they won the map 13-4. KRU are currently at the bottom of the League, as they have not managed to win a single game, at 0-5.
