Capturing the Action: VCT Americas Week 2 Summary
VALORANT Champions Tour 2023: Americas League kicked off on the 2nd of April. It was one of the 3 regional leagues hosted by Riot.
VCT Americas features some of the best Valorant teams, not only in the American Region, but also in the world. 10 teams are going head-to-head to be crowned the Champion of the Americas. But that’s not the end goal here, as the teams are also competing to fight for points to qualify for VCT Masters Tokyo, and VCT Champions.
Week 2 saw a total of 5 matches, where the 10 teams fought for points and bragging rights, on who won the opening matchups.
Game 1: Cloud9 vs LOUD
LOUD seemed quite dominant in the first game of the week. Although, they came up a bit short on the first map Split. Cloud9 took that win at 13-7. But LOUD showed up in the following maps, taking Ascent and Pearl 13-8 and 13-7 respectively. It was Less at the top of the table with 58 kills and a 1.20 rating.

Game 2: Leviatan vs Furia
Leviatan had a solid start against Furia. On the back of a dominant Attack-side, they managed to win the first map 13-11. But Furia found their bearings, and won the second map Icebox in quite a dominant 13-5. The final map of the series was Ascent, where Furia won the map with a stellar Defence side. They allowed Leviatan to win only one round in the second half, as they won the map 13-10. Although dgzin was leading the kills tally at 62, it was Khalil at the top of the table with 56 kills and a 1.34 rating.

Game 3: NRG vs Sentinels
NRG made easy work of their North American counterparts, as they won the series 2-0. On map 1 Lotus, both NRG and Sentinels had quite competitive Attacker sides. But NRG managed to come out on top, as they won the map 13-10. But map 2 Icebox was much easier for NRG as they completely dominated Sentinels. The team in red were only allowed two round wins in the first half, as NRG won the map 13-2. It was s0m leading the table with 40 kills and a 1.58 rating.

Game 4: MIBR vs KRU
KRU also had a solid start similar to Leviatan, but they also failed to win the series. MIBR won the series 2-1. On map 1 Ascent, MIBR had a good start, but KRU managed to turn it around, and win the map 13-9. Map 2 was Lotus, where both teams were quite evenly matched on their Attack sides. But MIBR were the better team, as they won the map 13-11. Final map of the series was Pearl, where MIBR again were the better side, as they won the map 14-12, even though KRU managed to push the map into Overtime. Heat topped the table with 63 kills and a 1.20 rating.

Game 5: EG vs 100 Thieves
100 Thieves had an easy time against fellow North Americans EG. on map 1 Haven, 100T had complete control of the map, as they won 13-9. Map 2 Icebox was a similar story, as they EG could not find any answers for what was being thrown at them. 100T won that map 13-5. It was bang leading the table with 41 kills and a 1.48 rating.
