Map 1: Lotus

Both teams had a decent start on Lotus. Fnatic managed to pull ahead with a 4 round win streak, but EG answered with a 4 round streak of their own. The first half ended 6-6. But Fnatic got the ball rolling in the second half. They managed to pull off a 6 round win streak right at the start of the half. EG only managed to pull back 2 rounds, before Fnatci took the map 13-8.

Map 2: Split

EG had a much better time on Split against Fnatic than they did with PRX, but this was still not enough to beat the EMEA giants. Fnatic had a stellar start on their defense. EG were left scrambling, as the first half ended 8-4 in favor of Fnatic. EG did manage to fight back in the second half. They had a solid start, and managed to win 5 rounds right off the bat. But Fnatic managed to push through, winning the 5 rounds they needed to take the map 13-11.

Map 3: Bind

EG managed to put up quite a fight on Bind. The North American outfit had a fantastic attack side, giving Fnatic only 4 rounds. They ended the first half 8-4. Fnatic did not take this sitting down. The EMEA giants pulled off an incredible comeback, winning 5 rounds in a row to equalize at 12-12 and push the map into Overtime. Fnatic kept this momentum going, and took the two rounds in Overtime to win the map 14-12.

The Leagcy:

Fnatic beat Evil Geniuses to lift the VCT Masters Tokyo Trophy. They are the first team to win two major Tournaments back-to-back.

Despite facing a disappointing outcome in the grand final, EG's journey throughout the tournament remained commendable. Their flawless performance in the group stage showcased their dominance, with their sole defeats coming at the hands of Fnatic in both the upper bracket final and the grand final. These losses against Fnatic emphasize the significant gap that separates them from other teams in the current Valorant scene, underlining Fnatic's unrivaled prowess.

Following their triumph at Valorant Masters Tokyo, Fnatic will receive a substantial cash prize of $350,000, while Evil Geniuses will claim $200,000 as the runners-up. Paper Rex and NRG secure their positions in the top four, earning $125,000 and $75,000 respectively. As Fnatic hails from Europe, their victory also grants the region an additional slot at Valorant Champions, the prestigious event taking place later this year.
