The Swiss Stage of Worlds 2024 is coming to a close, and it's do or die time for the six remaining teams.

Dplus KIA, Weibo Gaming, FlyQuest, Team Liquid, G2 Esports and Bilibili Gaming will scrap it out for the final three spots at the Quarterfinals, while the losers will be forced to say goodbye to Worlds.

All matchups for the deciding games of the Swiss Stage have been drawn. Which teams look poised to move on in the tournament?

Worlds 2024 Swiss Stage Round 5 Matchups and Predictions

Dplus KIA vs Weibo Gaming [2pm CET | October 13th]

This is possibly the most volatile matchup of the final Round of the Swiss Stage with both Weibo and DK showing high highs and low lows during their run at Worlds so far.

DK had a great start to Worlds 2024, quickly going up 2-0 and standing on the brink of qualifying for the Quarterfinals. Unfortunately for the South Korean side, however, it has all been downhill from there. DK's last two series were both crushing 2-0 losses to Chinese sides of LNG Esports and Top Esports.

Weibo hasn't had the easiest of runs in the Swiss Stage, drawing tournament favorites of Gen.G for their first game of the tournament. Since then, Weibo has shown a lot of ups and downs in their play.

Regardless, Weibo has been slightly more cohesive as a unit than DK in recent games, and will come into their matchup with greater momentum. As things stand, Weibo looks poised to complete the Chinese crushing of DK's dreams.

While the games could go anyone's way, Weibo's increased flexibility in draft and their more cutthroat approach to the game might be enough to tilt the balance in their favor.

FlyQuest vs Team Liquid [5pm CET | October 13th]

As it was always going to be, FlyQuest and Team Liquid will replay their historic LCS Championship Final, this time with Worlds Quarterfinals on the line.

The last time these two teams met, FLY carried out a convincing, if not also extremely dramatic, 3-1 victory over their North American counterparts of TL.

Both sides have had similar runs at Worlds, as they have each only defeated minor region teams on their way to securing a 2-2 scoreline in the Swiss Stage. Ultimately, however, FlyQuest put up an inspired showing in their loss to Hanwha Life, while Team Liquid struggled to defeat the Vietnamese GAM Esports.

FlyQuest have shown a more consistent level of play than Team Liquid at Worlds, and we expect that to be the deciding factor in the end.

Admittedly, FLY's commendable performances have come largely off the back of the shock value of their unexpected drafting strategies. Facing off against regional rivals of Team Liquid, however, that weapon may not come into play this time around.

G2 Esports vs Bilibili Gaming [8pm CET | October 13th]

No one quite expected BLG to be put in this position. Even their own support player, ON, admitted to coming into Worlds expecting a far easier time than they have had so far.

Despite their losses, though, BLG remains a remarkably strong team with astronomical levels of individual star power on their roster. Having won one of the toughest leagues in the world with relative ease, it will take more than a couple losses to knock the LPL Champions off the pedestal.

G2 also came into Worlds having won every single LEC tournament in 2024, and were hopeful on their ability to translate that form onto biggest stage. Despite fighting admirable, the Kings of Europe find themselves down to their last life after losses to very strong Korean sides of HLE and T1 earlier in the Swiss Stage.

Both BLG and G2 are great teams who have struggled to be consistent in their approach to games at Worlds. BLG, however, will be hungry to put up a strong showing against G2 to remind all other teams in the Quarterfinals that they are still top dogs.
