Xtreme Gaming announces partnership with Weibo Gaming
As the Riyadh Masters 2024 approaches, the teams are getting ready for the biggest events of the year. Some teams are in boot camps, working on improving their strategies and gameplay. Others are seeking opportunities to expand their team's brand.
Chinese teams have been showing resilience in the 2024 Dota 2 professional season. Two teams from China won LANs thus far. Xtreme Gaming is one of them. The team built their roster around Wang "Ame" Chunyu. Due to this strategy, XG had some fantastic tournament runs. As a result, the team has opened doors to some marvelous opportunities. Recently they announced their cooperation with Weibo Gaming. Thus, in the Riyadh Masters 2024, the team will participate in the tournament under their new banter.
Same Roster, Different banner
For Riyadh Masters 2024, the organization will compete under a new name, WBG.XG, while keeping the same roster. Xtreme Gaming's roster includes some of the most formidable players in China. Three of their players had already won Major trophies before joining XG. Additionally, the team's safelaner, Ame, whom the team is centred around, had secured the runner-up spot twice in previous iterations of TI.
Xtreme Gaming may have some of the most daunting players in China but sometimes fails to live up to expectations. The team had shown some inconsistencies throughout the 2024 Dota 2 professional season. They won the Elite League, but in the following tournament, ESL One Birmingham 2024, the team had an early exit. In the recent five tournaments the team participated in, Xtreme Gaming secured a top-five finish in four. So it's safe to say that they needed some time to figure out how to overcome their adversaries. Nevertheless, the team received their direct invite to this year's iteration of The International.
Hopefully, the team can find the answers they are looking for with their collaboration with Weibo Gaming. Currently, the roster of WBG.XG consists of :
Wang "Ame" Chunyu
Guo "Xm" Hongcheng
Lin "Xxs" Jing
Zhao "XinQ" Zixing
Ding "Dy" Cong
